Dear RPS Parents,
The student device policy has been revised and approved by the Randolph School Committee. Effective for the school year 2022-2023, the technology fee will be $30 per student device for all students in grades 2 through grade 12. The technology fee payment should be made via cash or money order. No student will receive their device without confirmation of payment.

RPS DEVICE POLICY:
One device is issued to each student, along with a protective case and a charger. These items are distributed annually. It is the student's responsibility to care for the equipment and ensure that it is retained in a safe environment. Identification labels have been placed on the laptop. These labels are not to be removed or modified. The devices are the property of Randolph Public Schools and is herewith being loaned to the student for educational purposes only for the academic school year, and must be used in accordance with the Policies and Procedures contained herein, the Student Code of Conduct, the Randolph Public School District Acceptable Use Policy, the Student Fees Policy, and any applicable laws. Use of this computer, as well as access to the computer network, the Internet and email are a privilege and not a right. The computer and accessories are provided for educational purposes only, and are intended to support the learning objectives of Randolph Public Schools.
COMPUTER FEE: $30
All students in grades 2 through 12 will be required to pay a non-refundable computer fee before receiving their laptop. This is a yearly fee.
COST OF REPAIRS OR DAMAGE
The Warranty will cover wear of defective parts on all laptops for a period of 1 year. When repairs for accidental damage are needed, the first accidental repair is free of charge. The second and third repairs will be charged fees. After the third repair students will lose their take home privileges. Students who have lost take home privileges will be permitted to receive another device at the start of the next school year. The School Committee must approve any new student fee. Student fees charged shall be reasonable and related to the cost of providing equipment. The School Committee will periodically review all student fees, especially in conjunction with the annual budget process. All student fees will be listed and described annually in each school´s student handbook or in some other written form and distributed to each student
